This brief video shares a more economic solution for electronic ignition coil replacement or upgrade for the 5HP Briggs and Stratton LHead or "Flat Head" type engines. (Others too!)

The Briggs part numbers are getting more difficult to find as these Flat Head engines have been out of production for a good while now. It always seems to follow that prices increase on "hard to find" parts. This info will hopefully save someone from spending $30$50 + on a part that should cost closer to $10. I'll add a link below to an electronic ignition coil and spark plug available on the Jungle site for anyone interested. I prefer to replace the resistor type plug boot with a standard plug boot/HT terminal from an old Briggs coil or automotive plug wire, but that's a subject for another video.
