India has a reputation for being filthy at the best of times. So when I saw a local vlogger's video claiming to have visited "Chennai's most dangerous hood", I had to check it out for myself. But not for the reasons you might think...

Far from producing shock content, I went with positive intentions, hoping to show that good people can be found in supposedly bad areas. Following my experience in Jaipur, I picked up a few boxes of Indian sweets from Shree Mithai before making my way to the hood via rickshaw and my first ride on an Indian train (first class, no less).

Whilst the surroundings were undoubtedly harsh, what I found within might well surprise you.
