Chen Tai Chi Spear is one of the traditional weapons practiced by advanced students. The spear is associated with the dragon because of its long body, powerful extensions, and twisting movements. This form requires a high level of mastery: stamina, speed and strength are essential. Practicing this form helps a student learn to transmit strength from body to the tip of the weapon expressing the explosive release of energy (fa jin 发劲).
