Join us on our tour of Chicot State Park in Ville Platte, Louisiana. Chicot State Park is a Louisiana State Park offering over 100 campsites among the wooded hills there on Lake Chicot.

Head's up: Check campsite photos carefully when reserving. Some sites are sloped and some sites have pavement drop offs.

What we love about Chicot State Park:
1. Sites are large with plenty of space. Some are close together but arranged so living space is your own space. Wood views and some limited water views.
2. Many of the sites have decks. We loved our wooden deck!
3. Nice trail through the woods for walking, biking (can be muddy in places)
4. Kids' Trail fun, short lighted path with plant and animal cut outs to find along the way.
5. Splash Pad
6. Kayak Trail
7. Cabins
8. Miles of roads for walking, running, and biking
9. Wildlife
10. Verizon service works well

What we didn't love about Chicot State Park:
1. Our site was a little sloped, but it worked out fine with using blocks under front tires. Some sites are sloped and some sites have drop offs. Check site photos when you reserve.
