China War Games LIVE: Taiwan's Defence Ministry Officials Comment on China Drills Around the Island

Taiwan has condemned the latest military drills by China around the selfgoverning island as an “unreasonable provocation” after Beijing deployed warships and fighter jets in what it described as a “stern warning” to “separatist acts of Taiwan independence forces.” The Taiwanese Defence Ministry commented on the drills around the island in a press conference. The Chinese military’s Eastern Theater Command said on Monday that the drills, involving joint operations of the army, navy, air force and rocket force, are being conducted in the Taiwan Strait. It is a narrow water body which separates the island from mainland China.
