This conversation was held on Zoom on Wednesday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. This was the final event in the fourpart series, "Contemporary Conversations in Christianity," developed and led by Elizabeth Schrader Polczer, doctoral candidate in Religious Studies at Duke and the 202223 Anne Firor Scott Public Scholarship Fellow. For this program, she was in conversation with James Martin, S.J., about “Christianity and the LGBTQ Community.”

They discussed Fr. Martin’s book "Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity". They also discussed various approaches to LGBTQ inclusion taken by different Christian denominations, including the Catholic, Episcopal, and Methodist traditions.
