Having been a projectionist and a Chief projectionist at ABC Wakefield, until 1987, when I realised the writing was on the wall. I had been in the industry for 20 years, I did this video in 2014. After digital projection came in, it was the end of projectionists as such. I tried to convey the loss of our expertise, we didn't just project it, we did things as well, like turning up the volume in certain places. Presentation, making sure the curtains closed at the right place, making the music finish right. you couldn't do this in a Multiplex, which is why I left the industry in 1990.
