Claim for Abandoned Property State Of California: Filling Out The Paper Work Correctly. State Funds.

***INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW*** In this video I go over how to fill out the claim for abandoned property form in the State of California. Important reference points from video:

1.) Top left corner under " Controllers account number" is the same number as the account property ID number ( reference in video)

2.) In highlighted blue box put your information. Use the information you used to sign up as an investigator unless its changed. Make sure to update with State if so.

3.) Under blue highlighted box next to "holder" put who the account holder is ( reference in video).

4.) Section two: check all applicable boxes that are required based upon the states requirement per account type (ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK THE HANDBOOK AND DO EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS).

5.) Section Three: Leave blank and let claimant fill out at time of notary signing.

6.) Section four: Put all your information there as the investigator. Same as above in Blue highlighted box.

7.) Section five: Next to " representatives signature" sign and date. Make sure notary has claimant sign and date above.

8.) Section seven: This is the area the claimant and notary sign.

** TIP**** place sticky note arrows on all areas you need the claimant to sign prior to mailing out claim packet to notary as another way to ensure all areas get signed correctly by state.
