With the discovery of large number of elements became difficult to study individually the properties of so many elements and their compound so many attempts were made to arrange elements in such a way that similar elements were grouped together and different elements were separated. Periodic classification of elements is the method by which elements are grouped on the basis of their characteristics i.e. we keep the elements that are similar in one group and the rest of the elements in the other group. Some empty spaces were also left in the periodic table so that the elements that will be discovered in the future can be placed without changing the trending periodicity of the elements.
