Ascent of the Jungfrau in the Bernese Alps on 16th August 2023 with the Swiss Alpine Club section SAC Weissenstein. We started our ascent at 4:30 am from the Mönchsjochhütte mountain hut. The standard route to climb this famous mountain brought us across the Jungfrau Glacier passing the mountain station of the Jungfraujoch railway, to the Rottalsattel and via the Southeast and then Southwest ridges to the summit. We encountered ideal conditions for the climb, apart from a cloudy summit section on the ascent. This climb is classified as fairly difficult and involves rocky climbing sections and ascending steep and exposed snow/ice slopes.
