Today, I'm going to walk you through Closest Facility Analysis in ArcGIS. Closest Facility Analysis is a network analysis used to identify the closest locations to an incident or event. This analysis helps organizations identify the best route to take for a designated vehicle or resources to reach a destination.

Let's start by opening the ArcGIS Desktop application. Once you've opened ArcGIS, create a new map. Next, add the data sources to the application. You will need a network dataset, an incident layer, and a facilities layer. A network dataset contains roads and highways, their attributes, and information on how to travel between them. incidents layer includes points or areas where something has happened or is about to take place. And the facilities layer contains points or areas where a service is offered or provided.

Once your data is loaded, click on the analysis tab and choose Closest Facility Analysis. You will then need to select an incident layer, and a facilities layer and then specify the number of facilities to find. After specifying the parameters, you can run the analysis and see the results.

The analysis will provide you with the closest facility to the incident point, as well as the travel distance and direction. The tool will also provide directions to the facility, and an optimally routed path.
