● Can clostridial disease be spread from animal to animal?
○ No, they are not spread from one animal to another.Merck(pg 601)
They are caused by the bacteria but predispositions cause the bacteria to activate and affect the individual. Just because one animal has tetanus does not necessarily mean the surrounding animals will be affected. They have to have the right medium for that bacteria to grow and proliferate.
●Is clostridium an anaerobic or aerobic bacteria?
○ They are obligate anaerobic, gram positive bacteria
●What is the Best location to administer clostridium vaccines? Why?
○Subcutaneous neck these can cause tissue swelling!
