UPDATE, April 2024: The current Avid CNC post processor for Fusion 360 seems to work fine with tool changes, and doesn't need any mods. Hey Avid CNC Woodworkers! This is the last step in setting up my ATC on the Avid CNC. I had to modify the post processors for Fusion 360 and Vectric VCarve to generate an M6 command to do a tool change AND a G43 command to set the active tool height. Both are required to get the tool change to work properly in your GCode files.

Most these changes are specific to the Avid CNC and Mach 4. I'm using a HITECO QD1F ATC spindle, but these directions are the same for the more popular CNC Depot S30 / S30C ATC spindles. I quickly discuss the changes; adding an M6 for the tool change, and G43 to activate the tool height for that tool.
