CNC Epoxy Inlays 101

Follow
Carveco

Learning how to create Epoxy Inlays on your CNC opens a fantastic path to start offering crisp, professionallooking products to your customers; and they’re not as hard to produce as you might think! In the first of our deepdive tutorials on Epoxy Inlays, we’ve let Leighton loose in the Carveco workshop to share his knowledge on the entire process from software (Carveco Maker) to CNC.
Using imported vector artwork for our design, this tutorial will show you how to produce a onecolour inlay using a VBit carving toolpath. But we’ll also go beyond our traditional software tutorials by offering some helpful tips on how best to prepare your material, prevent resin bleed and patch up any small holes you might find from the curing process. All finished up with a nice rub down in Odies Oil a particular favourite in our workshop.

Subscribe for the future videos from this series where we’ll be looking into creating inlays with multiple colours, building up to ‘The Beast’ our 15pour treetrunk inlay!
