The Coastal Electric Cooperative Bright Ideas Prize Team awarded a total of $40,242 to fund 29 classroom projects submitted by teachers in Bryan, Liberty and McIntosh Counties. Additionally, $1,000 was awarded to the principal in each of 24 schools for their discretionary Principals Fund. We learned that one school uses this money to purchase eyeglasses for students who need them to read but do not have vision insurance or the ability to buy prescription glasses.
