Coastal Erosion with Cove Spit Formation

Follow
Emriver, Inc.

We set up our Emriver Em4 DualTilt stream table for this experiment, along with our Wave Maker. The Wave Maker was placed at an oblique angle to the shore to create a unique pattern, and to study the interaction with the generated waves and the bay. The table was rolled to one side, a feature only available on our DualTilt Em3 and Em4. The media we used is our Memphis mix.

During the course of the experiment, we decrease the roll twice, and increase the water level. You can see how the coarse yellow media begins to deposit at the end of the waves, and it seals off the bay. You can also see areas where the fine red media remains suspended in the water as the waves move in and out. All timelapsed footage is 85x real time speed.
