Cocaine Bear is the new horror comedy movie from Universal Studios directed by Elizabeth Banks. It's a fun movie that doesn't push its premise nearly as far as it could. And it ultimately suffers because of it. Still, this movie filled my local theater up.

Which is why I recommend watching this one in theaters with some friends if you can. It's a great crowd movie. The plot of Cocaine Bear is entertaining. Even if the script isn’t as tight as it probably could have been. Especially considering the focused subject of this movie. And the whole thing clocks in under an hour forty so that's not too bad either.

It’s messy and tonally shifts to some abrupt and weird places at times but if you love schlock, this will scratch an itch. Unfortunately just not all the way.
