14monthold Theia Romaniecki has her cochlear implant activated to correct her progressive hearing loss. With her new implant, she is able to hear her mother, Laura, and father, Luke—an army sergeant deployed in Kuwait who was able to Skype in for the activation—clearly for the first time.
