From Baixa de Coimbra passing through the Monastery of Santa Cruz where Santo António studied theology, we went up to the upper part of Coimbra by the Avenida de Sá da Flag (former Vale de Santa Cruz), until the Square of the Republic, the Aqueduct S.Sebastião and the Botanical Garden. From the Parque da Mermaid Ancient Quinta de Santa Cruz we went up to the rising part of Coimbra where we visited the Celas Monastery (GPS 40.215180, 8.412164), a female Cistercian monastery with unique characteristics. And by the last we visited the Church of Santo Antonio dos Olivais, who belonged to the former monastery where Santo António followed the order of Assis s.Francisco.
