Cold emailing is by FAR the most important skill if you don't have a job. If you're at a nontarget or have no finance experience, you NEED to play the numbers game and reach out to tons of people in order to get any interviews. I reached out to 300+ people to get my first paid internship as a sophomore.

Make sure your email is concise (58 sentences) and professional. Personalize the email and have a specific call to action. Systematically track all of your outreach and remember to follow up with people.
