PERSONAL STATEMENT INTROS (as promised):

Penn State (specific): In the script of my life, I've sought love amid the "L"—Gen Z's symbol for loss, letdowns, and lackluster moments. An "L" is the lament of latent potential, a labyrinth of lost possibilities lingering like a lonesome lens, lowangle shot, and lumbering light sensitivity. Before I unveil the narrative of how I gathered the remaining three letters, like assembling a reel of film frame by frame, let me rewind to the beginning—when "L" stood alone in the cinematic story I was about to unfold.

Common App (general): I’m a Detroitbased Black girl who serves as a cultural and social media influencer. As I continue my postsecondary education at a local University, I can leverage credentials and connections to help establish Detroit, the nation’s largest majorityBlack city, as a global model for racial, economic, and social justice. To understand this, you must understand my city and the way my generational experiences here have shaped my identity.
(The prompt I chose was "Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.")
