The increased use of gastrostomy tubes for longterm feeding and other treatments has made the replacement of balloon gastrostomy tubes an increasingly common nursing procedure. Nurses need to know the basic techniques for the care and replacement of balloon gastrostomy tubes to assist and ensure positive patient outcomes.
