A sodium sulfate solution and barium nitrate solution are mixed together 0:03
A small piece of magnesium ribbon is dropped into a solution of zinc nitrate 5:23
Gold metal is dropped into a beaker full of sodium hydroxide solution 9:56
Potassium acetate and hydrochloric acid solutions are mixed 11:37

This video explains how we find the molecular, the complete ionic, then finally the net ionic equation for a given reaction. Some previous concepts are also reviewed such as determining the solubility and physical states of a compound, identifying a compound as being a strong or weak electrolyte (the seven strong acids and bases need to be memorized), and also reading an activity series.

New concepts such as identifying the spectator ions are also discussed. Four examples are covered including double replacement, single replacement, redox (reductionoxidation), and those involving acids or bases.

This video is presented by Your Science Tutor. We provide videos in math, chemistry, and physics.
