Condensation polymerisation is when monomers join together to make a polymer, and a molecule of water is made. Esters are organic molecules which contain the functional group COO. A polyester is a long chain containing many ester links (COO), and is made from the reaction between alcohol and carboxylic monomers. To make a condensation polymer, an alcohol monomer with an OH group at each end, and a carboxylic acid monomer with a COOH at each end are needed.
