The conduction system of the heart made easy with this stepbystep animation! Cardiology anatomy and physiology simplified!

The conduction system of the heart is the electrical pathway in which cardiac action potentials are produced and travel. Learn the conduction system anatomy and physiology of the SA node, AV node, bundle of His, right and left bundle branches, and Purkinje fibers.

Cardiac action potentials produced by the pacemaker cells or nodal cells of the conduction system lead to depolarization and contraction of the heart. This is an important function during systole, one of the two main cardiac phases. The other cardiac phase is diastole in which the heart repolarizes and relaxes.
