Conductive Labs NDLR and Synthstrom Deluge deep tutorial. MIDI LFOs and more (4K)

Want to learn how to use your Conductive Labs NDLR and Synthstrom Deluge together? In this video I show you how to set up the Deluge and NDLR to take advantage of the best of each device. The NDLR is a generative sequencer you tell it what you want to play and it figures out what the notes should be. It does not make sounds, and requires a synth to pair with to make music.

The Deluge is a powerful synth, sampler, and sequencer. You can use it to sequence other gear (such as the NDLR) and it has a built in synth engine and drum sequencer.

I paired the NDLR with my Synthstrom Deluge in a previous video (   • Conductive Labs NDLR, Deluge and Zoia...  ) using the Boards of Deluge 4 synth preset pack on the Deluge. If you like making evolving ambient music this preset pack, plus the NDLR, are perfect together!

The Deluge sends MIDI clock to the NDLR (and MIDI transport) and the NDLR sends MIDI notes to the Deluge synth engine to play. The Deluge also sends MIDI notes to the NDLR on channel 15 to change the key of the notes being generated.

I also use the LFOs in the mod matrix on the NDLR to modulate the position of the motifs and pad to really vary the sound being generated, and I use another NDLR LFO to modulate a filter frequency of a synth on the Deluge. Yes the Deluge already has 2 LFOs built in, but if they were already assigned then this trick can give you up to 8 additional LFOs to use with the Deluge.

There’s a lot more to the NDLR that I don’t cover here; a chord sequencer and MIDI controller for example.
