We start off the conic section part of precalculus with discussion of the parabola. A quick overview of conic sections and a review of quadratic equations and finding their maximum and minimum values (the vertex) is included. The new point of view includes a discussion on the focus and directrix of a parabola, as well as graphing the parabola. Shifted conics (those not centered at the origin) will be covered in a different video.
