This is a test run of a Conley 1/4 scale 6.09 cubic inch V8 engine. This motor has every operating and reciprocating part that a full scale V8 engine has and it also has a working twinscrew blower. It produces 9hp at 9,000 RPM. Dry sump pressurized oiling system with replaceable oil filter.
Conley built 125 of these engines and they are highly sought after. Amazing engineering and handcrafted work by Gary Conley. The engine stand was hand built by the owner and contains reservoirs of fuel, oil and water with gauges and throttle. This particular Stinger 609 normally sits in a hand built 1/4 scale hydro racing boat. The engine is being "surged" up and down on purpose becasue if it runs with no load for an extended time it can be damaged.
There are no more of these being built.
The motor is fully functioning just like a full size V8. Oil pump, water pump, cam, crank, even the distributor and blower work like full sized.
The test stand was built by hand and contains resevoirs of coolant, fuel and oil.
Yes they occasionally show up on Ebay and are expensive.
