In this series of video lessons I'm answering your questions about playing Gypsy Jazz Guitar.

I got a question from Goncalo in Portugal asking for some solid ways to enrich his soloing.

I thought I would take ‘Minor Swing’ and show you some simple ways where you can make your soloing sound more beautiful in the gypsy way.

Take the notes of the Am arpeggio A,C,E
For each note play chromatically down from the note 2 frets above.
Then experiment with bending to play the same notes
Practice in time over the Am chord.
Learn the same over Dm
Practice in time connecting solo lines from Am to Dm
Absorb these little ideas and use them the next time you play ‘Minor Swing’

It’s a matter of learning and absorbing these little ideas into your playing and not overwhelming yourself with loads of scary scales and arpeggios.
