This video shows the current Cooper Elementary School located in the Billings Park neighborhood of Superior, Wisconsin. This school was built in the mid1960's and is being replaced by a new facility.
The new school will be built on the northern end of the property where the current school is located, with construction taking place while school is still in session in the old building.
Once the new building is completed, the old building will be demolished in order that new parking and sports fields may be added. The first stage of construction will begin on November 30, 2016 with ground breaking and site prep, with construction to begin in April of 2017. The school is expected to be open beginning in September of 2018.
This project was made possible by approval of a $92.5 million capital referendum passed by School District of Superior voters on April 5th, 2016.
