Copy and Move Databases with TDE Protector in Azure SQL MI

Follow
Azure SQL Managed Instance

In this video Bradley Ball walks us through the Copy & Move mechanisms in Azure SQL Managed Instance.  We start by ensuring that there is networking connectivity between the Azure SQL Managed Instance networks.  We also show the error if TDE is in place on one instance but the same key is not accessible on the other SQL Managed Instance.  To this end we will connect the 2nd Azure SQL Managed Instance to the TDE Key stored in Azure Key Vault, we connect this with the TDE protectorate option enabled (but we note in the video that may not be the option you want to choose and why!).  We then execute the Copy process & then a Move operation.
