Welcome to Stein am Rhein, a small city directly at the Rhine, as the name suggests. And it has a very pretty old town part, too! If you're in the area, make sure to spend some time in Stein am Rhein, you won't regret it! We're aboard the S29 service bound for Winterthur with stops at all stations. Up until the first stop, the route is part of the "Seelinie" from Schaffhausen to Romanshorn and Rorschach. After Etzwilen, we'll turn left into southern direction and experience a classic singletrack branch line with many twists and turns. The river Thur will be crossed about halfway to Winterthur, very close to the parallel line from Winterthur to Schaffhausen, but with no connection in between. After Seuzach, the line is also served by doubledecker SBahn Zurich trains and just shortly after, it's all over with the peace and quiet of the single track part: We're back with lots of tracks and surrounding traffic up until Winterthur, the terminus for this trip.
