I was requested to make cowboy pie by someone who remembered it as a school dinner, and also as something his mum would make. Personally, I've never come across cowboy pie before now, but I'm glad it's now in my repertoire of easy and cheap comfort food. Cowboy pie is sausages mixed with baked beans and BBQ sauce, covered with a layer of mashed potato and cheese, and baked. Sometimes the sausages are replaced by bacon or minced beef or spam or corned beef. Or a combination. Cowboy pie is seriously easy to make, and very tasty.
