Unfortunately, studies show that women, Black, and Hispanic adults are least likely to get CPR from a bystander. Even as National CPR and AED Awareness Month comes to a close, it is always a good time to learn how to save a life! Earlier this month, we teamed up with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Theta Omega Omega Chapter and Montgomery County Maryland – Fire & Rescue Service to teach dozens of #AKA members, their families, and community members bystander CPR and proper AED use at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Academy. It's important to remember that you don't need to be certified to help keep oxygen flowing for a cardiac arrest patient.
