Direct crosswind = Tokyo drift! With a strong wind blowing directly across the runway, the pilots of these aircraft had to bring their jets into land 'sideways', making for some impressive 'drifting'! This is perfectly normal and if they planes weren't pointed into wind they would simply drift off the approach path. Look how the pilot aligns the plane with the runway just before touching down, amazing to watch.

I hope you enjoy watching these 12 tense crosswind landings, filmed during Storm Claudio at Bristol Airport earlier in November. Flight details are further down in the description.
