Students and Researchers in Ecology and other Science disciplines have always found it difficult to make simple graphical illustrations of their study locations/sites in the form of maps. Some have resulted in using existing maps on the internet which might not accurately show the exact points of collection of their samples and may not be acceptable by reputable academic journals. Another limitation to making a study area map is the unawareness of free software and lack of technical knowledge in the mapping procedures. Hence, this webinar intends to address all these challenges and provide simple and easytolearn techniques for making study area maps. QGIS is free, readily available and easytolearn software that is used by thousands of researchers across the world.
