Hello everyone, and welcome to this tutorial on creating a geological map using ArcGIS.

In this tutorial geological map in arcgis, I will be showing you how to use the ArcGIS software to create an indepth geological map of your chosen area.

First, we'll go over the necessary background information and then jump into the software.

For the background information, you'll need to know the Geological Society of America's definitions and abbreviations of different geological structures and materials. Knowing the different types of minerals, rocks, and landforms is important for accurately creating a geological map.

When you've gotten an overview of the geological definitions and abbreviations, it's time to move on to the software.

First, open ArcGIS and create a new document. Choose a projection that you would like to use for your map and set up the grid system.

From there, you'll be able to import the geological data that you have compiled and begin the visualization process.

You'll be able to specify the size and shape of your map, and set up the legend and grid system. After that, you'll be ready to start plotting your geological data points.

Plot all of your data points to the map, including the location, type, and other information. When you're finished, go over the entire map to make sure everything is correct.

Once you're done with that, you can export the map and save it as an image. You can also print out the map if you want to have a physical copy.
