Cellulitis is a deep skin infection primarily diagnosed by patient history and physical symptoms like redness, swelling, and pain. Its diagnosis can be challenging due to its similarity to conditions like dermatitis and eczema. Most nonpurulent cellulitis cases are caused by certain bacteria and are effectively treated with common oral antibiotics. Despite rising cases of methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus, additional treatment coverage for nonpurulent cellulitis is usually not needed.
