For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colors (110) Black, (106) Snow White and (393) Charcoal. Crochet hooks, I used a 2.5mm hook and a 2mm hook for the neatening rows. A darning needle to weave in ends, a pair of scissors. Thread and needle to stitch the magpie together. White thread to embroider on the markings and brown thread or a bead for the eye.

The finished size will be 14cm wide x 12cm high (5.5” wide x 4.75” high) for the larger magpie, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the magpie in Catona will be 12cm wide x 12.5cm high (4.75” wide x 5” high). The medium magpie will be 10cm wide x 8cm high (4” wide x 3” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small magpie will be m wide x 5.5cm high (3” wide x 2.25” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
