Two Intercity 125’s are captured passing each other at speed, between Northfield and Longbridge on 28th May. This capture was as a result of the Plymouth bound train running late and the Leeds bound train being a few minutes late.

The southbound HST was the 1105 Edinburgh to Plymouth which left Edinburgh 90 minutes late. With power cars 43285 and 43357, the working did a divert to make up time by running straight down the ECML from York to Doncaster, missing the Leeds and Wakefield sections out.
By Birmingham it was 20 minutes late.

When it was seen powering south west through Northfield, heading north was the 1527 Plymouth to Leeds lead by Intercity 125 liveried 43184, itself running circa 4 minutes late, with 43239 on the rear.
