Hi & Welcome to East Coast Sailing. Come and join me on day 5 of the sailing adventure as i sail 600NM solo over the course of 2 weeks. Im trying to get to Channel Islands after leaving my home port of Tollesbury based in Essex. I have previously attempted this journey twice and failed due to high winds. My aim is to land on the Channel Islands, specifically Alderney where i will go on to explore Guernsey & Sark.

Today's episode covers the big sea crossing departing Lymington where I will be sailing across the English Channel solo at its widest point. I'll be sailing 80 miles in 11 hours. I have never done a crossing like this. I was very nervous. Fear is caused by the not knowing. As I ate up the mile in Evania our new boat, I eventually reached Alderney which has been a dream of mine for some time. All it needed was a bigger boat.
