Csection scar massage should not be performed before the incision has fully healed, typically around 56 weeks. If you have any redness, heat or swelling around the scar, please contact your medical provider before beginning scar massage.

Scar massage should not be painful, though it may be uncomfortable. It’s normal to have soreness in the hours and day or two following csection scar massage but if you notice increased pain, please stop and contact your provider.
