Sara Tolaney, MD, MPH, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, comments on the use of CDK4/6 inhibitors in highrisk earlystage hormone receptorpositive (HR+) breast cancer. Whilst data from the monarchE trial (NCT03155997) has shown the benefits of abemaciclib, the NATALEE trial (NCT03701334), which evaluated three years of adjuvant ribociclib, showed that ribociclib may be an alternative for patients ineligible for abemaciclib. However, further data are needed for nodenegative populations. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
