Curtiss P-6E Hawk • Dumas rubber power build

Punk Works

The Curtiss P6E Hawk was in service in the USAAC from the late1920s to about 1937. The paint scheme I chose for this model is based on the P6E in the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.

I bought this 17.5 inch wingspan Dumas kit from a local hobby store. I made a few minor modifications including adding control surfaces and making them adjustable with the use of light bendable wire hinges (the wire is glued in place and made from garbage bag twist ties, works really well). I rendered the graphics on the computer and scanned and printed them on tissue. Another fun model to build although the custom graphics turned out to be a bit more challenging than I anticipated.

Yes, I spelled plastic wrong at 1:03, no I wasn't drunk, just missed it.
