In this first episode of our Pamir Highway adventure, we leave from the Green House Hostel in Dushanbe and head out on the northern route towards the Tavildara Pass. The journey is immediately unique, with sights of a local livestock market, shepherds moving their herds of sheep, and donkeys carrying their loads. The unpaved roads, often called highways, take us through untouched nature. You can read a lot about the Pamir Highway, but you have to experience it yourself to truly understand.
