DATING SOMEONE IN A WHEELCHAIR| Our Top Dating Tips

Adapted Adventures

Kasey and Andrea started dating back in 2010. They both met back in college in Texas. Andrea had never been with anyone who had a disability or was a wheelchair user before and so the interabled dating game was completely new to her. There were quite a few interesting challenges that they both had to overcome. Today, we give a few tips for interabled dating as we talk about what we went through including Andrea’s parent’s opinion and issue they had for being in a relationship with Kasey, and how she lost friends who did not agree with her choice of dating Kasey. For Kasey, he wanted to make sure he was honest and upfront with her about his disability and adapted lifestyle but at the same time was worried all of the information would “scare” her away.

We’re Kasey & Andrea. A Minnesotan and Salvadorian husband and wife living and loving life in Minnesota, USA. We live an adaptive lifestyle that allows us to be active, independent, and live life to the fullest.

We’ve been together a total of 8 years and going into our 4th year of marriage. Through all of these years together (and with Kasey’s 28 years of living with Spina Bifida) we have learned A LOT about adaptive equipment and products, and multiple ways on how to modify things around our homes and lives.

We have traveled to different parts of North and Latin America so far and planning to adventure a lot more in the near future.
We created this blog to share with others our personal experience with living an active and independent adapted life. We’ll be sharing adaptive product and equipment reviews of what we have used in the past; posts of some of the most fun places we’ve been able to visit during our travels. Last but not least, we’ll also share content regarding Kasey’s weight loss journey and adaptive fitness and exercise ideas.

We’re extremely excited to be able to reach out AND also learn from others who are living an adaptive life to the fullest!
Here’s to some amazing Adapted Adventures!
