DAUGHTERS OF GOD: Unknown Lithuania Heat and Legends next to Lake Galvé

With my wife Dace we continue to travel to the other side of the map to share it with you and we are in Lithuania, the largest of the Baltic countries.
One of the most beautiful places in Lithuania is Lake Galvé, unknown to the international public, but a favorite place for Lithuanians.
Lake Galvė is a lake in Lithuania that has 21 islands, one of which is home to Trakai Island Castle. Trakai Peninsula Castle is located on its southern coast. There are ruins of the small orthodox church on the island of Bažnytėlė.
This place combines nature with history and that makes it a privileged place, being relatively close to the two main cities of the country, Vilnius and Kaunas, gives it the chance to be visited by numerous tourists every week.
Trakai was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania from 1321 to 1323 before moving to Vilnius. The lake and most of the other lakes surrounding the castle and town have related myths and legends, most of which contain a tragic love story.
The heart of Lake Galvė is a small heartshaped islet formed near the castle on the island of Trakai. The waters of the lake tell the following love story: It is said that many years ago a very rich nobleman lived in Trakai and had a beautiful daughter, Barbora. She loved expensive clothes, jewelry, beautiful and rare animals and birds.
The king of a great country heard of the beautiful Barbora. When he arrived in Trakai, he immediately fell passionately in love with Barbora and asked for her hand in marriage. Barbora came from a noble family and the king even agreed to sacrifice her title for her sake.
But Barbora's response was this: “King, giving up the crown is not the most convincing proof of love. I would believe in your warm love more if I received as a gift what I have been dreaming of for a long time."
Barbora began to tell that somewhere there is a kingdom where swans of dazzling whiteness and indescribable beauty adorn the ponds.
The king promised to do everything and find that kingdom and bring swans to his beloved. As he promised, he did so, and soon the king's messengers delivered a pair of graceful swans to Barbora.
Today, the ancient Thracians say that the ancestors of the swans that now grace the Thracian lakes were that couple from the royal park in a distant country called Lithuania.
Traveling is hyperliving and as the afternoon grows deeper we will continue touring this side of the map to share it with you.#delotroladodelmapa #viajareshipervivir
