Allan Stewart, MD, has dedicated his career to the safe and minimallyinvasive treatment of heart valve diseases (aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation) and aortic aneurysms (dissections and ruptures). Dr. Stewart has performed over 5,000 cardiac procedures with more than 2,000 operations involving heart valve repair and/or heart valve replacement treatments. Dr. Stewart was one of the first cardiac surgeons to implant the new, noninvasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) devices.

Prior to becoming the Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Mercy Heart Institute, Dr. Stewart held leadership roles at Columbia University Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York.
