From 26 February 2024, all new and renewing taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers will be required to register with, and maintain a subscription to, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Update Service. 
A licence will not be granted without confirmation that the subscription is in place
It costs £13 per year
DBS must receive your application form within 28 days.
