The Douglas C47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) is a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC3 airliner.

The DDay Squadron is leading it's 2024 Legacy Tour, across the Atlantic with an American fleet of 6 restored C47 and DC3 variant World War II military aircraft. They will be joined by more Skytrains and Dakotas from Europe to commemorate the 80th anniversary of DDay and the 75th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift at sites throughout the UK, France, Germany and Italy.
